#SSS First Ever Six Sentence Sunday ~ The Fallen Clockwork Angel

Welcome to the first Six Sentence Sunday. This Sunday, I would love to share with you a bit of Emmitt and Libbie's story. They are from mine and Michele's series The Dreadfuls. The Fallen Clockwork Angel. These stories are a hybrid series within the Victorian Gothic/Steampunk/Paranormal genres. I hope you enjoy it, and will come back next week for another addition of #SSS.

In this particular part, Libbie has just ran to the mansion Emmitt resides in. She doesn't know this, but she needs help. Here is a snippet of a conversation between Jonah, Emmitt, Omer and Ezra after her arrival and passing out.

“Are you saying what I think you are?”
“An army?” Omer stepped farther into the room.
“Well it seems to be the norm ‘round here,” Ezra stated, after finishing his whiskey. “Zombies, now reanimated men and women. What’s the world coming to?”
Emmitt chuckled. He found humor in the wolf’s statement. “Yes, indeed. However, I believe it’s something simpler.”

Cover Reveal Bearing It All ~ TSU Series

Well, since we're a week out from Sorority Row's release, Michele and I thought we could show you what we have planned next.

Bearing It All is Emma and Bodhi's book. Yes, the shy curvy bear and Hayden's twin.

Here is the blurb:

Emma Monte has two really big secrets. One, she’s the guardian of her little sister Cassidy and two, she loves everything 80’s inspired. Okay, so maybe the second isn’t really a secret. However, when she’s invited to Hayden and Nico’s wedding and asked to help plan the affair of the century—Hayden’s words not hers, both of her secrets are about to come tumbling out.

Bodhi Raferty has been biding his time. He knows the little bear is his mate, but he’s willing to wait, if it means spending more time with her. When the opportunity arises to go home for Hayden and Nico’s nuptials, he ready to take that final step and claim Emma for his own.

But, Bodhi and Emma aren’t the only ones in for a surprise. As the week’s events unfold, there is a pair of Rafertys ready to be introduce, and they have the ability to upstage them all.

Our plan is to release this TSU story in late winter/early spring. Stay tuned for updates. :)

Unrequited Mate is Here!

First of all, I have to say, this has been a long and hard road to get Unrequited to you, the fans! Michele and I are so dang proud of this book and we can't even begin to tell you how much fun we had writing it, let alone preparing for this release.

In the last 18 months we have given everything to this story including our blood, sweat and tears. When we started out on this little adventure, we realized that we had the potential to tell so many stories with these couples, it wasn't even funny. They are near and dear to our hearts and I can honestly say, for me, it is like writing about our best friends.

Nico and Hayden will be familiar to you when you read their story, for some, it'll be like stepping into a time machine, and learning about them through a different perspective. For others, it'll be a new and interesting world built around humans and shifters co-existing in a world that doesn't see the difference between the two.

Michele and I both hope you enjoy attending our college, and get a feel for not only the mystical quality of our campus, but also the genuine love our characters, family, mates or friends have for one another. Our hope, is to bring you at least 6 new stories, with a potential for the entire series to consist of 14 books. We are just that committed to bringing you this amazing adventure meant to make you laugh, cry, swear and, at the end, sigh with happiness.

We truly hope you enjoy this adventure with us, and now, without further ado, here is: Unrequited Mate!

Welcome to Turnskin University...

Hayden Raferty, left behind her entire family and all her friends to get away from her mate, Nico Lopez. In a single night, he crushed her hopes and dreams of finding true love. Now, years later, Hayden has decided to move on and start over.

Nico Lopez knows he screwed up, but letting his mate walk away isn’t in his plans. It's time to make his move. With a little help from 555-ROAR, Nico obtains a spot in the Greek Shifter Games and is determined to show his mate there isn’t another male worthy of her. If has to put his body on the line to prove it, so be it.

The growing bond between them seemed to spike the year she’d turned seventeen, but no one seemed hard pressed to explain the inexplicable need she had to rub against him or the anguish of not having him near. The frequency of their visits became shorter due to both of them working or school. However, when the weather turned warmer, no matter what, they went swimming. Hayden stepped up to his door and knocked. When he didn’t answer, she knocked again then called out his name.

Nico’s rag top jeep sat in the small parking lot so she knew he was there, but fear gripped her. She pounded on the door once more, heart in her throat. The door opened a few seconds later and her best friend in the whole world stood before her, bleary eyed, with a sheet wrapped around his hips. The thick putrid smell of alcohol clung to him along with something else. Her wolf bristled at the scent.

“Are you coming back to bed, Nico?” A woman’s voice called out and Hayden knew what the smell was. She backed away from the door, horrified. Some visceral emotion sliced through her, shredding her ability to breathe.

“Hayden,” Nico called after her, but she’d already started running. She shifted mid-stride uncaring if anyone saw her. The tattered remains of her clothes floated to the ground like the slivers of her soul.

She finished up the rest of the semester, and avoided him at all costs. He showed up at her high school graduation that May, and she ignored him. He brought her flowers and a locket, but she refused both. She couldn’t stand being around him. He broke her that day and it took two years to muster up the courage to move on with her life.

Now a sophomore in college and all of twenty years old, the urge to mate clawed at her. But the guys she sat through class with or in study group did nothing for her. She found herself comparing them to he-who-shall-not-be-named, and didn’t that just suck donkey dick? A low growl of irritation passed her lips and she balled her hands into fists. What’s done is done. He made his choice and you weren’t it. She opened her notebook and wrote a quick note to her dad. She needed them to understand she was moving on, and she would appreciate if they didn’t ask about him—Nico. It was time.

Sorority Row is here!

Michele and I are pleased to present, Sorority Row. It's the second book in our TSU series and we have also been working on short stories to go with the book after you've read it.

When we started this series, we weren't sure what the reception would be. We have books planned for the adults in these 20-something adult's lives, but it's been a fantastic journey telling their stories. And, we have several more to come.

Right now, we are in the planning stages for Bearing It All (Emma and Bodhi's book) and Silence isn't Golden (Utah and Raquel's book). Both of which, will be pretty exciting reads and you'll meet a few new people.

But, for now, here is a look at Sorority Row.

Blurb:  The Greek Shifter Games have come to a close, and Bell must focus on gaining enough pledges to keep her house. Sigma Epsilon Xi doesn’t have tons of money. Nor do they have tons of sisters. They need ten pledges in thirty days or they’ll lose their ramshackle house. Add to it, their house is on the verge of being condemned. And, as if her life isn’t hard enough already, she has two dominant males hot on her tail—Christoph and Jackson.

Things take a turn for the worst, when she has to make a good impression for Christoph’s parents. She has to deal with the questions from her father and her uncles, as well. At every turn, however, one situation or another arises, threatening the progress she’s making.

Christoph and Jackson don’t see eye to eye on a lot of things, but mating Bell—claiming her for their own—drives their every action. But both men have secrets. Can they put their differences aside and team up to be who she needs?

With the help of 555-ROAR, can these mates find their way, or will the stresses of Greek life, keep them apart?

Excerpt: “Don’t worry, son. My pride is your pride. You’ll always have a home with us.”
Rapier’s statement bolstered his confidence, even though he felt like he’d puke any minute. His stomach rolled worse than a roller coaster ride on crack. His gut knotted, and, for the first time since his thirteenth birthday, he had sweaty palms.
“You don’t know them like I do.” The words had sat on the tip of his tongue, but the man had given him sanctuary when he needed it the most. Didn’t mean it scared the shit out of him any less. For the first time in his life, he’d be on his own. Which meant his schooling might have to be put off for a while. Wonder how Bell will feel about a college dropout for a mate.
Yet, beneath the fear, a thread of calm flowed through him. Relaxed to the point all seemed right for him. When Mr. Rapier pulled him aside to talk, he expected the normal, “She’s my daughter, what are your intentions?” type stuff. Instead, he got the surprise of a lifetime.
“I’m here because Hui and Min sent me. They said you needed help.”
Boy, did he ever.
For an hour, they sat on Bell’s dilapidated front porch and talked about his life. What he had planned for himself and how he knew to the very fiber of his being, he’d do whatever it took to give Bell the life and happiness she deserved. He also purposefully forgot to mention Jackson at her request, and, after meeting her father, he understood why.
By the time Rapier walked into the house, Christoph had some semblance of a plan. Or he thought he did, until Bell walked out onto the porch. She took his breath away. “Did you make your dress?”
A cute pink blush covered her cheeks. “Yes. Do you like it?”
No. He loved it. She reminded him of those 1950s women. Always with the pleated skirts and fitted bodices. The neckline of her dresses were tasteful but teased the hell out of him. The scarf in her hair matched her outfit. Tonight, she wore a knee-length frock made of powder-blue material. See-through lace, or something, covered the skirt of her dress. Around her neck lay a simple strand of pearls.
“I don’t like it.”
She frowned.
“Bell, I love it.” He pulled her into his arms and rubbed his nose against hers before placing a quick kiss to her lips.
“I wanted to make a good impression with your parents.” She placed her hand on his hip. “With everything going on lately, I almost forgot your parents would be here this weekend.”
“All of our families will be here.” He tucked her into his side. “Let’s go get Jackson.”
She nodded. “I really need to come up with a way to explain this to my father.”
“When the time is right, you will.”
